Tara Kelley, VP of Clinical Trials

What’s your departments role in research?

The DCR Clinical Trials team assists pharmaceutical and medical device companies in the design, recruitment and completion of clinical trials using its renal research site network.  Innovation as a result of this research is aimed at improving care and quality of life for people with kidney disease.

What’s your favorite thing about DCR?

DCR is a place where everyone is encouraged to bring their authentic self to work.  Time and focus is spent on personal and professional development that creates an exceptional level of compassion and understanding for fellow TMs and results in elevated performance by high functioning, happy teams.  I have never experienced a better work environment than the one we have at DCR.

Lauren Gaffney, Sr. Director of Outcomes Research Operations

What’s your departments role in research?

The DCR Outcomes Research team leverages multiple data sources to design retrospective analytic studies and develop modeling tools that provide insights and support to DaVita Kidney Care. Additionally, the team prospectively conducts qualitative studies, which often involves surveying patients, caregivers, and medical professionals, in order to provide data that may lead to improved patient care and quality of life.

What’s your favorite thing about DCR?

I love working with a team where personal growth and skills development are strongly encouraged and supported. We have several incredible mentors on the DCR team who foster a rich learning environment. This, along with the collaborative nature of our work, has contributed to the development of a strong and highly-connected team.

What’s your favorite thing about DCR?

Our TEAM!  I am honored to work with so many amazing teammates, all of which truly bring their heart to work every day, caring for our patients and each other.  Many of us have worked together for over 10 years which I think is pretty unprecedented.  Working in clinical research can be tough – the work is challenging and the wait can be long.  But the way that we all come together inspired by the promise of a better future for our patients makes this such a special place to be.
