The DaVita Clinical Research (DCR) pharmacovigilance team uses tools such as data mining and investigation of case reports to identify the relationships between drugs and adverse drug reactions (ADRs).
Pharmacovigilance specialists collect, monitor, research, and assess information from healthcare providers and patients on the adverse effects of medications and treatments, as well as data on the medications’ effectiveness and efficacy in real-world applications. By identifying new information about hazards associated with medications, DCR researchers seek both to prevent harm to patients and to mitigate the impact on the sponsor.
